When crises occur, it’s ordinary people living through them who mobilize and respond to the needs of their community, be it organizing evacuations, care packages, food & shelter, etc. Since last week’s wildfires, it’s been Indigenous people and allies keeping each other safe, not the irresponsible political elites.
